Day 01: Arrival
Upon landing at Entebbe Airport, our Guide will welcome you and transport you to a Guest House for your overnight stay.
Day 02: Transfer to Entebbe for your flight to Bwindi
Over breakfast, the guide will explain your Uganda safari details. You’ll then head to Entebbe Airport for an internal scheduled/charter flight to Kihihi Airstrip. Our Local guide will meet you there and drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. If you’re on the morning flight, enjoy lunch before an optional forest or village walk to learn about the area. Return to your Lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 03: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park
After breakfast and with packed lunch, walk to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. Your guide will explain the dos and don’ts around mountain gorillas. You’ll be taken to your assigned gorilla family’s starting point. Gorilla family allocation considers your interests, fitness, and age. Inform your guide of any preferences. Gorilla trekking can be demanding and requires some fitness. The trek can last from 30 minutes to most of the day, so be prepared. Your guide will share information about the forest’s flora and fauna until you reach the gorillas. You’ll have one hour to observe and photograph the gorillas in their daily activities. Trek back to get your certificate, then enjoy dinner and overnight at your Lodge.
Day 04: Fly back to Entebbe town
Post-breakfast, transfer to Kihihi Airstrip for your flight to Entebbe International Airport. Our representative will take you to an Entebbe Guest House. Optional evening activities include birding at Botanical gardens, visiting Uganda Wildlife Education Center, or exploring Entebbe on foot.
Day 05: Fly to Kidepo Valley National Park
Your Uganda tour continues with a pick-up from your Entebbe or Kampala accommodation to Entebbe International Airport. Take a chartered or scheduled flight to Kidepo Valley National Park, enjoying Uganda’s scenery from above. The 2-hour flight lands at Kidepo Valley Airstrip. Our representative will drive you to Apoka Safari Lodge, Kidepo’s finest. After lunch and relaxation, enjoy a late afternoon game drive in Kidepo Valley. Look for buffaloes, elephants, hippos, antelopes, and possibly lions and leopards. Return for dinner and overnight.
Day 06: Morning and afternoon game drive
Start with early morning tea, then drive to Narus valley for a morning game drive. Try to spot various animals, including cheetahs if lucky. Kidepo’s game drives offer a unique experience in a vast, unspoiled park surrounded by scenic hills. Return for lunch, then take a guided nature walk in the park.
Day 07: Visit to the Karamojong village
After breakfast, drive through Narus Valley to Lolkul Village. This cultural visit is a highlight of Kidepo safaris. Experience the Karamojong’s unique lifestyle, enter their homes, and maybe try their strong local brew. Join a cultural dance before returning to the lodge for lunch and a shower. Afternoon game drive to the Uganda-Sudan border and hot springs. Look for ostriches in this area. End the day with dinner around a fire.
Day 08: Visit to Ik People
Enjoy breakfast before a game drive through Narus Valley to Kidepo Valley. Spot various birds, including endangered ostriches. Visit the hot springs and learn about their cultural significance. You may also see the Uganda-South Sudan border. For the fit, hike to the Ik village atop Mount Morugule. Meet these ancient beekeepers and perhaps buy some honey. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 09: Fly back to Entebbe and end of your 9 day Kidepo Valley and Bwindi gorilla fly in safari
After breakfast, transfer to Kidepo Valley Airstrip for your Entebbe flight. Those with connecting flights should book departures after 20:00.
