Day 1: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth National Park
A Heritage Safaris representative/driver-guide will greet and collect you after breakfast from your hotel. You’ll depart at 7:00am for Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey takes you through several of Uganda’s major towns like Masaka, Lyantonde to Mbarara town where you’ll have lunch at Agip Motel. Post-lunch, you’ll continue through the tea plantations at Igara in Ishaka, through Kalinzu Forest Reserve and finally to a magnificent viewpoint of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 2: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early morning game drive in Uganda’s premier park, where abundant big game can be seen. Queen Elizabeth National Park’s varied ecosystem of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters houses an incredible wealth of wildlife. Game drives in this park, with the towering Rwenzoris as a backdrop, offer excellent opportunities to spot lion, leopard, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephants, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, Topi and bush buck. After lunch, head to Queen Elizabeth National Park for an afternoon boat excursion along the Kazinga Channel.

Day 3: Kyambura Chimpanzee Tracking – Bwindi
Post-breakfast, you’ll head to Kyambura Gorge for Chimpanzee tracking. You’ll observe the chimpanzees as they forage for food and care for their young ones as a family. Afterward, drive to Bwindi Forest National Park via Ishasha for a game drive to spot the tree climbing lions, with Lunch at Ishasha Wildness Camp. Subsequently, you’ll be transferred to Bwindi.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking Safari in Bwindi National Park
After breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing about the mountain gorillas and the park. Enter the jungle to search for the elusive primates in their habitat. One hour is allowed with the primates for clients to enjoy their antics and take memorable photographs. Bring rain gear, comfortable shoes, hat, insect repellent, sunscreen, packed lunch and bottled water. Spend the evening visiting local communities around the park – such as typical Bakiga homes, local breweries, traditional healers, Batwa cultural performances, local schools and art and craft shops.

Day 5: Bwindi Forests – Kampala – Entebbe
Post-breakfast, board the safari vehicle and drive back to Kampala, with lunch en-route. Pause at the equator again to purchase souvenirs from your Uganda adventure. Drive to the airport for your return flight home.
