Day 01: Arrival – Entebbe Airport -transfer to Kampala
Upon landing at the airport, our guide will greet you warmly and escort you to Serena Kampala Hotel (High end) or Cassia Lodge (Mid range) or ken Rock Hotel (Budget end) for an overnight stay and dinner. Meal plan Dinner.
Day 02: Kampala – Kibale National Park
Depart Kampala after breakfast for an engaging drive through papyrus swamps and dense jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park, nestled beneath the Ruwenzori Mountains. Enjoy an afternoon guided walk in the crater lakes area of the park for an outstanding cultural visit. Meals and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge/Ndali Lodge (Lodge facility) or Mountains of the Moon (Mid Lodge) or Chimps Nest (Budget facility). A remarkable location overlooking a dramatic Crater Lake and the legendary “Mountains of the Moon”. Meal plan: (B, L, D).
Day 03: Chimp Treks at Kibale – Bwindi
Spend half a day seeking chimpanzees and 10 other primates including phoestes, red Colobus, blues, and red-tailed and grey-cheeked mangabey. Your guide will offer detailed explanations about primates, forest fauna and flora, ensuring an informative and enjoyable walk. This excursion is excellent for birdwatching and observing primates up close. After lunch, journey to Bwindi via Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you might spot various wildlife including Elephants and Buffaloes. Bwindi is Earth’s most verdant highland rain forest, teeming with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. Dinner and overnight stay at either Buhoma Lodge/Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Safari Lodge (high-end lodge) or Silverback Lodge/Chameleon Hill Lodge (Mid-range) or Buhoma community Bandas/Wagtail Eco Camp (Budget facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 04: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking
Start the day with breakfast, preparing for trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a UWA staff briefing. Remember to bring a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots, etc. Guides will lead you into the jungle to observe the shy Primates in your assigned group. Don’t forget your lunch boxes and all necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, potentially one of the most exhilarating wildlife experiences globally. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but is worth the effort. Spend the afternoon on a village walk. The Buhoma Village Walk offers a great chance to witness life in the communities surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It’s also an excellent way to support the local community directly. The Walk, led by your guide, starts at Buhoma Community Rest Camp and is highly informative and rewarding. You’ll be amazed by the resourcefulness of the local people as you observe and learn about their ways. Day 05: Bwindi – Kampala – Entebbe
Return to Kampala, then Entebbe, with lunch en route and a stopover at Igongo cultural centre to explore the lifestyle of the Ankole and Bahima. Afterward, proceed to the Equator Uganda before your evening departures home. Meal plan: (B, L) End of services.
