This 5-day primate adventure in Uganda begins and concludes in Kampala. The expedition takes you to Mgahinga Gorilla Park for Gorilla trekking and Golden Monkey Habituation. The journey continues to Lake Mburo National Park for wildlife observation, including Zebra, Giraffes, Buffalos, Elands, Topi, Impala, Bush bucks, Oribi, Warthogs, Vervet monkeys and Baboons. A boat excursion on the lake to view Hippopotamus, Nile crocodiles and water birds such as African fish eagles, Kingfishers, African finfoot, and Long crested eagle is also part of the itinerary.

Full Itinerary
Day: 1 Drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
After morning breakfast, our company representative, who is your guide, will meet you at your place of residence/hotel to start a 10-hour countryside journey. We pause at the Equator for Coffee, Tea and an Equator experience, observing the clockwise and anti-clockwise displacement of water in the northern and southern hemispheres respectively. A lunch stop follows in Mbarara, the land of Milk and home of the ANKOLE LONG HORNED CATTLE. We proceed to Kisoro “Kigezi land,” an area of terraced rolling hills. Upon arrival, you check into our lodge awaiting dinner later.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga National park
You’ll gather at the park offices in the morning after breakfast for briefing and registration. From here, a UWA ranger guide and two armed escorts will lead you into the forest for gorilla trekking. This activity might be demanding, but traversing the dense forest is a remarkable experience, and locating the endangered mountain gorilla will be rewarding. This unique opportunity allows you an hour with these gentle giants, which may seem brief. Enjoy your quality time with them, knowing your name will be recorded as a contributor to conserving this endangered species. Return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Habituation Experience
Another notable day begins after morning breakfast. Return once again to the park offices, this time for golden monkey trekking and Habituation experience. These endangered monkeys are found only in the Virunga conservation area, spanning Uganda, Rwanda, and DR Congo. Golden monkey habituation not only brings you close to these beautiful creatures but also ensures you have ample time with them as they go about their daily activities in your presence. After the experience, we head back to the lodge for dinner.

Day 4: Drive to lake Mburo National Park
In the morning, you’ll transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for a savanna safari experience, arriving in the afternoon for a hot lunch at the lodge. Later, we go for a boat ride on the lake to observe Hippopotamus, Nile crocodiles and water birds such as African fish eagles, Kingfishers, African finfoot, Long crested eagle, Starlings, among others. After the boat trip, you’ll have an evening game drive. Wildlife sightings may include Giraffes, Buffalos, Elands, Topi, Impala, Bush bucks, Oribi, Warthogs, Vervet monkeys and Baboons. Return to the lodge for dinner.
Day 5: Morning Nature walk/ Game drive later to Kampala/Entebbe
Today after breakfast, you’ll have a walking safari with an armed ranger in the park, or a game drive, providing a close-up view of wildlife such as Zebras, Impala, Topi and much more. Afterward, we bid farewell to Lake Mburo national park and drive back to Kampala or Entebbe/ place of your choice as our services conclude. We’ll stop for lunch on the way and you can make another stop at the equator for souvenirs before reaching your destination in the evening.
