The scheduled flight departs Entebbe at 12:30 pm, arriving at Kidepo at 14:45pm. Another guide will meet you at Kidepo and transfer you to your lodge for a late lunch and relaxation. Prepare for an evening game drive, a highlight of safaris in Uganda, before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive and evening game drive

Start your second day of the Uganda wildlife safari with an early breakfast before a 6:00am morning game drive. You might spot predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, along with elephants, baboons, duikers, jackals, bushbucks, giraffes, and zebras. Return to the lodge for lunch.

The evening game drive, beginning around 2:00pm, takes you to Narrus River, the park’s only permanent water source. Here, you’ll have excellent photo opportunities and observe large concentrations of animals drinking, including elephants, lions, reedbucks, oribi, Jackson’s hartebeest, waterbucks, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and klipspringer. Birdwatchers on Uganda birding safaris will enjoy sightings of secretary birds, little weavers, black-breasted barbets, yellow-billed hornbills, and singing bush larks. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Hiking Mount Morungole

After breakfast on day three of your Uganda adventure, transfer to the starting point for hiking Mount Morungole in northeastern Apoka. This ancestral home of the IK people, who originated from Ethiopia, offers spectacular views of the landscape, IK homesteads, and the eastern rift valley. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 4: Morning game drive and cultural tour

In the afternoon, your Uganda vacation continues with a cultural tour to the Karamojong community. These fierce warrior pastoralists live at the borders of southern Sudan and Kenya. You’ll view their traditional instruments, Manyatta homesteads, and learn about their polygamous culture. Observe tribal markings, listen to old stories, and enjoy cultural songs and dances. This cultural experience adds depth to your Uganda tour. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
